NSBC On-Water Training

Overview: The National Safe Boating Council's NASBLA-verified Boat Control On-Water Training course teaches close-quarters maneuvering and underway boat control. Virginia Maritime Solutions' certified National Safe Boating Council instructors progress each client through safety, gear, pre-launch checklist, to docking and refueling in close quarters. Each maneuver is demonstrated, practiced, and repeated advancing from idle speed to displacement mode, then planing mode.

Modules:

• Course 1: Introduction to Powerboating
• Course 2: Precision Docking and Boat Handling
• Course 3: Open Water Boat Handling
• Course 4: Open Water Advanced Maneuvers

A NSBC Certificate of Completion is awarded after each course module. Insurance companies offer a 10% reduction in insurance premiums.

Cost:

• Private Instruction: $899 (1 & 2 day options available).
• 2 students: $499 per person (2 days, 2 modules per day).
• Additional fees for use of VMS's vessel or a rented vessel.
• Fuel fee based on market price.
• 20% repeat customer and family package discounts available.
